Case Study: Angas Bremer Water Allocation Plan – Irrigators’ Revegetation

March 2014

Under the Angas Bremer Water Allocation Plan around Langhorne Creek and the surrounding areas, Lakes Flora carried out large-scale revegetation work on several irrigators’ sites. The project include site assessment and planning, preparation of site, and propagation and planting of more than 50,000 seedlings.

More than 40ha of land was direct seeded after rigorous site preparation – including control of some of the worst weed infestations we’ve seen. Rocky ground also provided a few challenges in some parts, which was overcome by pre-ripping the earth and a solid effort by our planters.

Work included fencing to keep out neighbouring stock, and regular maintenance was carried out to ensure successful planting was achieved.
